Career Development
Rachel Frierson and
Megan Leinbach

Career Development committee attempts to aid in the preparation of seniors for the "real world" through workshops and seminars in areas not taught in the classroom. The largest event planned by this committee is the professional dinner usually held in the Spring to teach seniors the proper behavior at a professional dinner.


Class Gift

Shannon Hoffman, A.J. Marin, and Tiffany Trombley

The Class Gift Committee is responsible for fundraising and selecting the senior class gift that is presented to the University at the commencement ceremony. The most popular and successful event is a fundraising event at Buffalo Wild Wings. The first class gift was The Rock in 1873. A website for donations and updates is devoted to the class gift.


Commencement
Stephanie Dudewicz and Amanda Sloan

The Commencement committee is responsible for selecting the student speaker for both the December and May commencement ceremonies. There are also in charge of planning all other events surrounding graduation.

Homecoming and Alumni Relations

The responsibilty of Homecoming and Alumni Relations is to plan all events surrounding homecoming and coordinates alumni events for the council.

New Membership

The purpose of this committee is ensure the continuity of the council. They organize the selection of a new council through an application and interview process in March. The chairpersons of this committee also help provide a smooth transition from the current council to the new one.

Philanthropy
Kerry Monroe and Kristin Hough

The Philanthropy Committee organize community outreach projects and raise funds for non-profitable organizations. Events include the Charity Bowl football tournament in the late fall that elicit the participation of other student organizations. This committee tries to to provide opportunities for seniors to give to the East Lansing community.

Publicity
Caitlin Schultz and Danielle Randall

Publicity is a vital component to the success of the Council. The Publicity committee aids the other committees in advertising their events in order to make sure the information is available to the maximum number of seniors. The committee advertises through monthly emails to the entire senior class, chalkings around campus, and other means.

Senior Awards

The Senior Awards committee leads the selection process for Outstanding Seniors and Outstanding Faculty/Staff Awards that includes a recommendation/application and interview process. The awares are presented to the recipients during the Senior Reception.

Senior Days
Jessica Daly and Allison Zolad

The Senior Days Committee plans monthly social events for seniors as well as Senior Week in April. Past events have included Thirsty Thursday Lansing Lugnuts games, free ice cream from the MSU Dairy Store, and more.

Senior Reception
Jessica Eisenbeis and Kathryn Tignanelli

The Senior Reception committee plans the reception for Ourstanding Seniors and Faculty/Staff during which awards are presented. The reception takes place in April.
